In 2003, the Lake County Library Endowment Board acquired the property south of the post office for the site of a new library. Designed by Robertson, Merryman, Barnes Architcts, Inc., with input from the local community, the new library will be 10,113 sq. foot on one and one-half floors. It will contain book and periodical stacks, an after-hours community room, a children's story area, improved Internet and distance-learning capabilities and a reading area with a view of Black Cap to the east. The design melds a traditional look with modern technology and will incorporate elements of the geology, landscape, history and lifestyle of Lake County. |
